MDW Sergeant Audie Murphy Club History

The U.S. Army Military District of Washington (MDW) Commander, MG Robert Ivany and the MDW Command Sergeant Major, CSM Stevenson Cuffe, both felt that MDW should have all the same programs and recognition devices that other Army units sponsored, one such program was the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club (SAMC).

The command was given the SOP and Regulation written and the MDW SAMC was born. The first Military District of Washington Sergeant Audie Murphy board was held on 17 August 1999
